Pacific Ocean
The Pacific Ocean is the world's largest ocean, bordering the west coasts of North, Central and South America, the east coast of Asia, and the east coast of Australia; it spans almost the entire globe, north to south, from the Bering Strait to Antarctica.
The ocean has given its name to a number of baseball leagues, including the Pacific Coast League, the Pacific League of Japan and the Mexican Pacific League.
Eiji Sawamura died when his ship was sunk in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. Nub Kleinke died of a heart attack while fishing on the ocean, off the coast of Marin County, California.
