The Senadores de San Juan (San Juan Senators) were a top team for many years in the Puerto Rican League winning eight league championships. The Senadores won the 1995 Caribbean Series with a team filled with major league players, Carlos Delgado, Bernie Williams, Edgar Martinez, Juan Gonzalez, Roberto Alomar, Carlos Baerga and Ruben Sierra. That team earned the nickname the "Dream Team"
The Senadores have moved from San Juan on two occasions. In 1974 they moved to Bayamon, returning nine years later. Then in 2000 they moved again this time to Carolina. Their last season was 2014/15. Notable players have included Hiram Bithorn, Raymond Brown, Roy Partlow, Monte Irvin, Larry Doby, Roy Campanella, Bob Boyd, Roberto Clemente, Thurman Munson, Johnny Bench, Luis Arroyo, Tony Gwynn, Manny Sanguillen, José Pagán, Bryan Harvey, Lonnie Smith.
