Biographical Information[edit]
After his playing career ended, José Pagan was a Pittsburgh Pirates coach from 1974 to 1978.
José was signed by scout Alex Pompez. played for various teams of the Puerto Rico Baseball League including the Santurce Crabbers, Caguas Creoles and San Juan Senators. After his retirement as an active player he became one of the most successful managers of the league, achieving championships with the Bayamón Cowboys, Arecibo Wolves and Ponce Lions.
He passed away June 7, 2011 at his home in Sebring, FL.[1]
