Team History[edit]

The Potomac Nationals were a Washington Nationals affiliate in the Carolina League. They played their home games at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge, Virginia. Prior to 2005, the club was known as the Potomac Cannons. The team relocated to Fredericksburg, VA after the 2019 season, becoming the Fredericksburg Nationals as by then their spartan home ballpark had become outdated and was clearly out of place in a minor league environment where the parks were becoming family-oriented entertainment complexes.
