Biographical Information[edit]
Matthew LeCroy won a bronze medal for the United States at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In the 1999 Pan American Games, he was a backup DH for the USA and was 1 for 3 with a double and a run.
LeCroy signed on as the manager of the Hagerstown Suns in 2009 and has since remained in the Washington Nationals farm system as manager at various levels and as a major league coach. LeCroy led Hagerstown in 2009 and 2010, the Potomac Nationals in 2011, and the Double-A Harrisburg Senators in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, he moved up to the parent Washington Nationals as their bullpen coach and was dismissed at the end of the 2015 season along with manager Matt Williams and the rest of the coaching staff. In October, the Nationals announced that in 2016, LeCroy will return to his prior position as manager of the Harrisburg Senators and he stayed in that role through 2019. In 2020 LeCroy stepped away from managing for one season and worked as the Nationals' Minor League Quality Control Coordinator. When he returned to managing in 2021, it was with the AAA Rochester Red Wings.
