G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium is a ballpark located in Woodbridge, Virginia. It was built in 1984 and has a capacity of 6,000 people. It was the home stadium of the Potomac Nationals of the Carolina League and their various previous incarnations as the Prince William Pirates, Prince William Yankees, Prince William Cannons and Potomac Cannons, until they moved to Fredericksburg, VA following the 2019 season.
The ballpark harkened back to another era, when minor league teams were run on a shoestring budget and their ballparks were simply a place to hold games with a small crowd present, with few other amenities. By the time the Potomac Nationals played their last season here, that approach was badly outdated and the team would likely have been simply eliminated if it had not moved to more modern facilities.
