The Lakeland Tigers have been an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers in the Class A Florida State League since 1967. Since 1967, (except for 2002) the Tigers have called Joker Marchant Stadium their home ballpark. The club played their 2002 home dates at nearby Henley Field while Joker Marchant Stadium was being renovated. After the 2006 season, the club became known as the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
