Biographical Information[edit]

Ralph Treuel pitched nine seasons in the minor leagues, with two full years at AAA. He was 14-12 in AAA, 13-9 in AA, 23-20 in A ball and 3-2 in Rookie ball for a composite 53-43 record as a pro, but never made the majors.

Treuel began coaching in the minors in 1983, starting as a roving pitching instructor. He was pitching coach of the Lakeland Tigers in 1989-1990, Toledo Mud Hens in 1991-1992, Detroit Tigers in 1995, Trenton Thunder in 1996 and 1998, and Lowell Spinners in 2002. He managed the GCL Red Sox in 2003-2005 and was pitching coach for the last month of the season for the 2006 Red Sox. When Bob Kipper was promoted to the big league staff in 2015, Treuel replaced him as pitching coach of the Pawtucket Red Sox.
