Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Harp was head coach of Dallas Baptist University from 1973-1999, winning 40+ games 17 years. He took the school to the NAIA College World Series in 1984, 1985 (finishing second in the nation), 1988, 1989, 1990, 1994, 1997 and 1999. His son Scott Harp also became a coach. He produced nine future major leaguers, when the school had none before him: Freddy Sanchez, Jason LaRue, Les Lancaster, Lew Ford, Darren Hall, Billy Brewer, Scott Mullen, Brandon Harper and J.J. Trujillo.
