1983 NAIA Area Tournaments
The 32 winners of the 1983 NAIA District Tournaments advanced to one of 8 Area Tournaments. As with the District Tournaments, the Area Tournaments are geographically grouped and are 3, 4, or 5 team double elimination format. The top team in each bracket advances to the 1983 NAIA College World Series. The highest ranked team that finished 2nd in an Area Tournament receives an at-large bid and the College World Series host team (Lubbock Christian College in 1983) completes the 10 team CWS field.
