Team History[edit]

The Jersey Shore BlueClaws, of the High-A South Atlantic League and briefly in High-A East, changed their name from Lakewood BlueClaws after the Coronavirus-cancelled 2020 season. The Philadelphia Phillies farmhands play their home games at ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood Township, NJ.

The franchise's 2001 move of the next-to-southernmost Sally League club - then a Low-A circuit - stretched the north end of the league's footprint by nearly eight driving hours from its previous home in Fayetteville, NC. The club played as the Lakewood BlueClaws through 2019 and would have in 2020 except for the pandemic. The re-brand was officially announced after that season would have ended.

MLB's subsequent Minor League Reorganization raised the BlueClaws one level when play resumed in 2021.

The 'Claws play Copa de la Diversión Hispanic engagement campaign games as Medusas de Jersey Shore (Jersey Shore Jellyfish).
