Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Adamson played catcher at Angelo State University in 2008-2010 and was named to the Lone Star Conference all-tournament team in 2010 [1]

Adamson played baseball with the Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League from 2011-2015. He hit .159/.224/.159 in 2011-2012, throwing out 40% of would-be base-stealers. He became the starter behind the dish in 2012-2013 and batted .266/.299/.305. He dropped to .216/.293/.288 in 2013-2014. By 2014-2015, he was a backup (to Rocky Gale and hit .196/.288/.314. His final season, 2015-2016, he was 6 for 20 with two doubles, two walks, a run and four RBI, backing up Kyle Petty at first base as Connar O'Gorman became Adelaide's catcher. He had hit .229/.290/.288 in 123 ABL games, with 32 runs and 40 RBI. Most of his time was spent at catcher, though he sometimes played first base or occasionally the outfield. During his last two years, Adamson doubled as the team's bench coach. He was a full-time bench coach during the 2016/2017 season. The Bite promoted him to manager after that season and he remains the team's manager through 2020/2021 (now Adelaide Giants). His team was 11-29 in 2017-2018, 19-21 in 2018-2019 and 24-12 in 2019-2020. He also coached for the Australian national team in the 2019 Premier 12.

The Philadelphia Phillies hired Adamson to manage the Lakewood BlueClaws in 2020 before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Adamson moved up a level in 2021 and managed the Jersey Shore Blue Claws. He managed the FCL Phillies in 2022 then returned to Jersey Shore as bench coach in 2023. Adamson also served as the hitting coach for the Aussies in the 2023 World Baseball Classic as they advanced past the first round of a World Baseball Classic for the first time. He was bench coach of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2024.
