Team History[edit]

The Daytona Tortugas, of the Florida State League and briefly in Low-A Southeast, were originally among teams MLB listed for elimination in MLB's 2021 Minor League Reorganization. The Cincinnati Reds farmhands play their home games at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

Despite being on the list, the Tortugas bid on the 2021 FSL All-Star Game after losing the 2020 ASG to the Coronavirus pandemic. Daytona Beach indeed made it through the reorganization and baseball returned in 2021. The restructuring ultimately lowered the 'Tugas, and most of the FSL, one level.

The reorganization may have ended minor-league ASGs altogether, without publicity. The original 2021 schedules had only a Triple-A All-Star Game, which was canceled when the start of that season was delayed, and none of the remaining four levels has had an ASG since nor have any scheduled in 2023.

The Tortugas play Copa de la Diversión Hispanic engagement campaign games as Rumberos de Daytona (Daytona Partygoers).
