Biographical Information[edit]
Tom Brown was a major leaguer for only two weeks, but he was a workhorse during that time. With the Seattle Mariners in 1978, a team that lost 104 games, he made his debut September 14th and pitched in 6 games the next couple of weeks. His ERA was 4.15, allowing no unearned runs, on a team whose staff ERA was 4.67. He was released the next spring. In college, he led the nation with a 0.51 ERA in 1972 at Northeast Louisiana University. In 1989, he played for the Bradenton Explorers of the Senior Professional Baseball Association.
Since his playing days, he has been a longtime minor league pitching coach. He was scheduled to be pitching coach for the Daytona Tortugas in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19.
