Team History[edit]
The first Trois-Rivières Aigles, also known as the Three Rivers Eagles in English, were the AA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds at the height of the Big Red Machine era. Aigles players included Ken Griffey, Sr., Dan Driessen, Joaquin Andujar, Rawly Eastwick, and Ray Knight.
The Aigles were re-formed in 2013, as an independent team in the Can-Am Association, taking advantage to recent renovations to the city's venerable ballpark, the Stade Fernand-Bédard, and wishing to build on the decade-long success of the nearby Capitales de Québec. Eric Gagné is a minority owner of the team. They had their first winning season in 2015, then defeated Rockland in the first round and New Jersey in the finals to claim their first league championship. They then sank to the bottom of the league standings in 2016.
In 2021, Trois-Rivières and Capitales de Québec played as one team named Équipe Québec over travel concerns at the U.S.-Canadian border caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Although starting the year as a road team only, they managed to eventually play 21 home games. Trois-Rivières then formally began play in its new league in 2022.
