History[edit]

Équipe Québec was a one year experimental team in the Frontier League put together due to the travel restrictions imposed by the governments of Canada and Québec during the Coronavirus pandemic. The team consisted of players from the two Frontier League teams in the French-Canadian province of Québec, the Québec Capitales and Trois-Rivieres Aigles. The team played the 2021 season exclusively on the road at the start, because of uncertainty regarding whether the U.S.-Canadian border would be opened. By the end of the season, these restrictions had been loosened, and Équipe Québec was able to play 21 home games while clinching a playoff spot and winning the Frontier League's Atlantic Division.

The name Équipe Québec is also used in amateur tournaments such as the Canada Games when teams representing various provinces of Canada play one another.
