Biographical Information

Chuck Goggin missed the 1966 and 1967 seasons while in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served a 13-month tour in Vietnam during that time, unlike most ballplayers from that era who were in the army reserves and never left the United States. His tour ended when he stepped on a landmine; fortunately, he received only minor injuries and was able to return to playing baseball in 1968.
