1964-1965 Cuban National League
(Redirected from 1965 Cuban Serie Nacional)
The 1964-1965 season was the fourth season of Cuba's national baseball system.
Serie Nacional[edit]
The fourth Serie Nacional was won by Industriales for their third straight title. Once again the team was managed by Ramón Carneado.
Industriales second baseman Urbano González hits a league-leading .359 en route to the MVP award. Orientales pitcher Manuel Alarcón strikes out 101 batters in 94.2 innings, becoming the first to top the century mark. On February 21, Azucareros first baseman Inocente Miranda played an entire game without touching the ball.
This was the first season in which all teams played an equal number of games, 39. It is also the last season played with only four teams – next year the serie added two teams and expanded the schedule to 65 games.
