Román Águila Ríos

Román Águila pitched for 11 seasons in Cuba. In the 1963-1964 Serie Nacional, the Azucareros hurler led the league in games pitched (22), relief appearances (19) and wins (6, tied with Manuel Hurtado). He pitched 20 games in 1964-1965 to tie Ernesto W. Alfonso for the lead. His 8-1 record for the Centrales in 1966-1967 led the Serie Nacional in winning percentage. He was two wins behind leader Rolando Macías and Rigoberto Betancourt. Overall, he went 40-30 with a 2.60 ERA and .230 opponent average in 184 games (51 starts).
