The University of Indianapolis was known as Indiana Central College until 1975 and Indiana Central University until 1986.
Indiana Central canceled the remainder of its season in late April 1979 after 9 members of the team were suspended for drinking on campus. The remaining 10 members held a vote to cancel the season. On April 7, 2023, Brady Ware had one of the greatest performances in college baseball history for the school in a 14-0 win over Drury University: he pitched a seven-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 batters, and also went 4-for-4 at the plate, hitting for the cycle and driving in 5 runs.
