Biographical Information[edit]
Al Ready has been a college coach.
Ready hit .352 with 18 homers and 74 RBI as a college junior and was second-team All-American. He set a school record for walks, both in a career and in a season. He split the summer of 2001 between the London Werewolves (.190/.352/.298, 19 BB in 26 G)and Evansville Otters (.207/.378/.310, 16 BB in 21 G). A backup catcher for the 2002 Otters, he hit .185/.318/.250 with 20 walks in 37 games.
He won 88 games and two conference titles (the school's first) as head coach of Sauk Valley Community College from 2005-2007. He set the school record for wins (34 in 2006). He then returned to his alma mater, Indianapolis, as assistant coach from 2008-2018. He was promoted to head coach in 2019.
