Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Crowell debuted in the major leagues in 1997 with the Cincinnati Reds, but did not return again until 2004 with the Philadelphia Phillies. In the interim, he bounced around the minor leagues and even spent a year in indy ball. He had a rough go of it from 1998 to 2001, posting season ERAs of 9.97, 5.10, 5.73, and 4.88, but eventually righted himself. In 2004 and 2005, his minor league marks were 2.40 and 2.67, respectively. He was a baseball lifer, sticking around in the professional ranks until 2007.
