Biographical Information[edit]

Jordan Tiegs pitched for two years at Sauk Valley Community College and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 46th round of the 2006 Amateur Draft. Tiegs opted not to sign with the Reds and attended the College of Charleston for one year and then spent his final undergraduate year at the University of Indianapolis. Tiegs earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications-Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration from Indianapolis.

Tiegs continued his playing career for two years after college. He played in the independent Frontier League with the Evansville Otters in 2009. He signed with the Oakland County Cruisers in 2010 but his season ended early due to an injury.

In 2011 Tiegs returned to the University of Indianapolis as both a student and coach. He was an assistant coach for the Greyhounds from 2012-2014 and helped the team reach the Division II World Series in 2012. While at Indianapolis he earned an MBA degree. Late in 2014 Tiegs accepted an assistant coach position at Division I Indiana State University. He served as the Sycamores' pitching coach through the 2019 season.

The Texas Rangers hired Tiegs in mid-2019 as a pitching instructor in their minor league system. He was scheduled to be the Hickory Crawdads pitching coach in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. Tiegs did serve as the Crawdads' pitching coach in 2021 before being promoted to co-minor league pitching coordinator for the 2022 season.
