Team History[edit]

In 2008, a group of investors bought the floundering Midwest Sliders of the Frontier League with the aim of moving the road team into a permanent home in Oakland County, in the northern suburbs of Detroit, MI. In the absence of a stadium to host them in Oakland County, the Sliders played the 2009 season in Ypsilanti, MI. They were scheduled to move into a purpose-built stadium in Waterford, MI in 2010, with a name and logo that evoked the glory days of the American automobile industry. The team did not come back for the 2011 season and its plans to return for the Frontier League in 2012 have not materialized.
