Triple-A Baseball National Championship
(Redirected from Triple-A National Baseball Championship)
The Bricktown Showdown was renamed the Triple-A Baseball National Championship in 2009. The annual event is a one-game playoff between the champions of the International League and the Pacific Coast League. The event venue rotates on a yearly basis, similar to the Triple-A All-Star Game venue selection.
In May of 2022, the Triple-A Triple Championship Weekend was announced as a replacement for the Triple-A Baseball National Championship. The new format, debuting at Las Vegas Ballpark September 30th through October 2nd featured three one-game showdowns: the International League's division winners played for their league title Friday, the PCL's two titlists did so on the Saturday, and the two winners faced off on Sunday for the Triple-A crown. The championship is slated to return to its traditional format in 2023.
