Huntington Park in Columbus, OH, is the home of the Columbus Clippers, the Cleveland Guardians' Triple-A International League farm team. Opened in 2009, it helped the Clippers led minor league baseball regular-season attendance, breaking the Sacramento River Cats' eight-season run.

Located in the Arena District, a trendy area with a view of the city skyline, this brick beauty in 2018 became the first stadium to host Triple-A baseball's top two showcases in the same season: the Triple-A All-Star Game and the Triple-A National Championship.

It has outfield seats and a Major League feel. What is now Ohio's biggest city might have a shot at MLB if it weren’t located right between Cleveland and Cincinnati.

Columbus has lost professional baseball a couple of times, with the longest absence in the 1970s, after the Columbus Jets were purchased and whisked away to West Virginia when Franklin County, OH, decided not to renovate Franklin County Stadium. When an International League franchise later became available for a mere $25,000, the county saw a new and safer way to go - owning its own franchise. Officials have said owning the team prevents it from moving away for, or from holding the county hostage for, a better deal. That might cut both ways, but after about 30 years - roughly the normal tenure for a minor league stadium - the county invested in the new ballpark that lifted the Clippers into minors prominence.
