Biographical Information

Jacques Boucheron has played in France.

Boucheron was with the New Caledonia national team for the 2011 Pacific Games, going 7 for 21 with two doubles, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, five runs, two RBI and five steals in six tries, though he fielded only .808 (5 errors); he scored 3 times against Fiji. He was 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA as a pitcher, losing to John Pangelinan and Silver Medal winner Guam. He tied Joeli McGoon and O'Leary Ise for second in the event in swipes (two behind Brian Balajadia), tied for fifth in runs, tied for fifth in assists (15) and was 4th in errors (one behind Ise, Sailiilemalo Laolagi and Inoke Niubalavu).

He then played for the Templiers de Sénart in French Division I. In the 2014 European Cup, he went 5 for 17 with a double, triple, run, two walks, hit-by-pitch, five RBI and no errors. He led the team in RBI and was second to Florian Peyrichou in OPS. For the event, he tied Gianison Boekhoudt, Christopher Howard, Stijn van der Meer and Urving Kemp for 6th in RBI. He hit .272/.339/.350 for the Templiers in the 2014 Division I regular season, stealing 8 bases in 14 tries, fielding .983 and going 1-1 with a 7.36 ERA as a pitcher. He tied for 4th in the league with 26 RBI, tied for 10th in steals, led in caught stealing and tied for first with five double-play grounders. In the finals, he went 4 for 10 with a walk, two runs and a RBI to help the club win its first title.

Boucheron then made the French national team for the 2014 European Championship; he was not the first New Caledonian to make the team, as Philippe Lecourieux had been with the French squad in 2007. He hit .267/.313/.300 with 3 steals in 4 tries, 3 runs and 4 RBI in 8 games, fielding .864. He tied for 8th in the event in swipes, but was only 4th on a steal-happy French team, behind Maxime Lefevre (5), Arthur Paturel (4) and Pierre Turettes (4).

In 2015, he hit .378/.420/.504 for the Templiers, with 24 runs and 13 steals (caught once) in 32 games. He also was 1-0 on the mound, not allowing a run in 12 innings. He was 6th in France in average and slugging, 10th in OBP, tied Larry Infante and Lefevre for second in hits (48), tied for first in triples (5), was 4th in total bases (64) and 4th in steals. He hit .200/.238/.200 in the 2015 European Cup and turned in outstanding relief against ASD Rimini. Relieving Christopher Morel (who had allowed 11 runs in 3 innings), he allowed 3 hits in six shutout frames, too little, too late.

Boucheron was back with France for the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in March 2016. He started the opener against Panama leading off and playing right field. He ground out in the first against Paolo Espino and fanned in the fourth versus Alberto Acosta then was injured pursuing a fly from Jonathan Saavedra; Norbert Jongerius replaced him and he would miss the next two games, including France's first win in a World Baseball Classic qualifier.
