Biographical Information[edit]
Urving Kemp is the son of Olympian Adonis Kemp and the brother of former minor leaguer Dwayne Kemp and Hoofdklasse player Tyriq Kemp.
Urving hit .370/.414/.519 with 6 steals (never caught) and 7 runs for the Netherlands in the 2009 World Youth Championship. He made his Hoofdklasse debut in 2011, going 3 for 15 with 4 walks,m a double, 3 runs and 3 RBI for Neptunus. He batted .167/.310/.375 in the 2011 European Junior Championship. He struggled off the Neptunus bench in 2012, going 2 for 23 with five runs and four walks, fielding only .800. He formed a double play combo with his brother at one point. In the 2012 Holland Series, the teenager got five at-bats, matched his regular season hit total and had more RBI (one, singling in Mourik Huijser in game 3) as Neptunus was swept in an upset by Kinheim.
