Biographical Information

Brallan Pérez peaked at AAA then played for the Colombian national team.

He was signed by Texas Rangers scout Hamilton Sarabia. He debuted as a pro with the 2013 DSL Rangers, hitting .325/.425/.383 and fielding .989 at second base. He had 32 walks to 14 whiffs and scored 43 times in 61 games. He split 2014 between the DSL Rangers (.280/.419/.346, 16 SB in 20 tries, 43 BB, 49 R in 64 G) and Myrtle Beach Pelicans (0 for 1). The next year, he was with the AZL Rangers (.300/.358/.336 in 29 G) and Hickory Crawdads (.194/.286/.194 in 11 G).

Pérez was still putting up excellent OBP and contact numbers in 2016 but his playing time remained low as he was a utility man for Hickory (.393/.433/.536 in 10 G) and the Spokane Indians (.307/.422/.400 in 30 G). He bounced around even more in 2017, making stops for the Crawdads (.359/.407/.449 in 21 G), Down East Wood Ducks (.234/.309/.266 in 46 G) and Round Rock Express (0 for 5 at AAA) before being traded to the Baltimore Orioles for future considerations. He batted .368/.455/.491 in 19 games for the Frederick Keys following the deal.

The Oakland A's then took him in the AAA portion of the 2017 Rule V Draft. He played 2B, SS, 3B, RF, LF and P for the 2018 Stockton Ports, producing at a .265/.347/.319 clip in 87 games. The next summer, he was with Stockton (5 for 26, 2 2B, 2 BB), the Beloit Snappers (2 for 9, BB) and the Midland RockHounds (.254/.331/.299 in 74 G).

He played for the Vaqueros de Montería in the 2020 Caribbean Series, the Caribbean Series debut for a Colombian League team. He broke up two no-hit bids; in the 6th against the Astronautas de Chiriquí, his single off Davis Romero ended one bid. His single off Edgar Torres of the Tomateros de Culiacán marked the Vaqueros' lone hit that day. He finished the event 2 for 12 with a walk.

In the 2021 Caribbean Series, he hit .118/.211/.176 for the Caimanes de Barranquilla as Colombia again went winless. He debuted for the Colombian national team in the Americas Olympic Qualifier that spring. He was the leadoff hitter and second baseman in their opener, grounding out against Team Canada's Andrew Albers then striking out in the 3rd and flying out in the 6th. Derwin Pomare batted for him in the 9th as Colombia got no-hit. The next day, he dropped to 9th in the order and played right field. He singled off Venezuela's Erick Leal in the third and later grounded out and laid down a sacrifice bunt. In the last game, he led off and played right and center (starting in RF), going 1 for 4, with a single off Cuba's Frank Abel Alvarez and stole a base. His 2-for-9 turn was similar to Colombia's weak offense in general; he tied for the team lead in hits with Jerry Downs, Andrés Angulo and Jonathan Lozada. He was 0 for 2 for the Caimanes when they won the 2022 Caribbean Series, the first Colombian Caribbean Series champs.

Perez was bench coach of the the DSL Padres Gold in 2023.
