Atlantic Association

From BR Bullpen

The first Atlantic Association operated in 1889-1890, with cities from Massachusetts down through Maryland. In its first year, 4 of the 9 teams disbanded during the year. In its second year, 6 of the 8 either disbanded, moved, or left for another league. Baltimore left the league in late August to replace Brooklyn in the American Association. Only New Haven and Newark completed both seasons.

The second Atlantic Association was six-team class D league that operated for less than 3 weeks in 1908. It was based in New England. The league started May 2. Woonsocket dropped out after 1 game, Taunton moved to Attleboro, Pawtucket dropped out on May 19, and the league disbanded on May 21.
