Biographical Information[edit]
Les German pitched six years in the majors. In his best year, he had an ERA+ of 113 for the New York Giants in 1893 under manager John Ward. He was 11 years younger than star first baseman Roger Connor. In the minors, he went 35-11 in 1891 for Buffalo, 31-41 in 1892 for Oakland, and 22-11 in 1893 for Augusta. He umpired one National League game in 1895.
After his baseball days he became a top trapshooting expert, often mentioned in the press.
