Biographical Information

Little is known about John Doran, who was a pitcher for the Louisville Colonels of the American Association in 1891. He went 5-10, 5.43, in 15 games. He was born in Athens, PA in 1861 and returned to the town after his playing career. There is a record of his spending time in jail in 1899, and while his family is buried in Athens, there is no trace of him there, so he presumably left town after serving his time.
