2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup
The 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup was the 4th Caribbean Baseball Cup. The event was a qualifier for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games; the top two teams (other than Cuba, which had already qualified) would win spots. Competing were defending champion Curaçao, host
The Bahamas,
Cuba,
Puerto Rico and
United States Virgin Islands. Haiti was set to compete but withdrew in late November due to turmoil on that island. The event is being held at Andre Rodgers Baseball Stadium in Nassau. See 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup (Rosters) for team listings.

Curaçao 7,
Puerto Rico 1. Jordan Lucas goes the distance to beat Freddie Cabrera and Puerto Rico. The defending champs get two runs from LF Rayshelon Carolina and CF Sherman Jones, while SS Darren Seferina drives in a pair. SS Nelson Molina drives in 3B Ricky de la Torre with the lone Puerto Rican run.
The Bahamas 4,
United States Virgin Islands 3. The hosts began with a win, but it was not easy. They trailed 2-1 into the 7th before RF Ellison Hanna singled in 3B Keithron Moss and 1B Warren Saunders. The Virgin Islands tied it in the 8th when Evan Sweeting walked RF Jahlani Rogers with the bases loaded to score CF Jahmoi Percival, but Sweeting retired the next two then the Bahamas came back in the bottom of the inning when LF Toby Simmons hit a sac fly to bring in DH Kristin Munroe. McKell Bethel struck out two of three in the 9th to save it.

Cuba 9,
United States Virgin Islands 0. LF Hector Labrada reaches in four of five plate appearances, while Cuban batters draw 14 walks in a rout. José R. Rodríguez, Andy Vargas and Yeudis Reyes combine on a four-hitter to beat Mark Knight. 1B Conroy Samuel III goes 2 for 2 off the bench to lead the Virgin Islands.
Curaçao 12,
The Bahamas 10. The home team gives the defending champs a challenge before falling. SS Darren Seferina scores three and 3B Raywendley van Gurp drives in three, Curaçao taking advantage of 12 walks. Nelmerson Angela pitches four scoreless but does not last long enough for the win, which goes to Temesh Lourens (saved by Risandro Pastor). 1B Warren Saunders drives in three for the Bahamas, who also draw plenty of free passes (11). Robin Haven doesn't make it out of the first in a loss.

United States Virgin Islands 11,
Curaçao 10. The Virgin Islands get their first win, with C Taj Bates driving in three and RF Kaleeq Brannigan rapping three hits; SS Zayd Brannigan drove him in with the winner in the bottom of the 9th. Dwayne Maduro got the win, Cerilio Soleana the loss (despite being the best hurler on his team today). CF/RF Shean Michel had three hits in a losing effort.
Puerto Rico 6,
Cuba 0. After Cuba began with a dominant win and Puerto Rico began with a blowout loss, the teams switched course today, guaranteeing each team had at least one win and one loss after three days of competition. LF Jeffrey Domínguez scored three and was a homer shy of a cycle, while 3B Rey Navarro and C Rubén Castro each had three hits as well. José Carlos Burgos, Oscar Rivera and Josué Montañez combine on a one-hitter to beat Pavel Hernández. 2B Santiago Torres' leadoff hit for Cuba is their only safety.

Puerto Rico 6,
United States Virgin Islands 0. Puerto Rico has their second straight 6-0 win, as Héctor Quiñones and four relievers combine on a three-hitter. C Rubén Castro singles, triples, walks, scores one and drives in one to lead a balanced offense. Roberto Soto takes the loss.
Cuba 9,
The Bahamas 3. Cuba bounces back to hand the hosts their first big loss. Leodán Reyes pitches six shutout innings and Yunier Castillo notches a three-inning save. SS Luis Mateo and 1B Guillermo Avilés each have two runs and a RBI. In a losing effort, PH Ellison Hanna homers. Giovante Tomlins is the losing pitcher.

Cuba 8,
Curaçao 7. In a rematch of last year's title game, Cuba rallies from a 7-4 deficit to get revenge for last year. DH Yoelkis Guibert has three hits (including a homer) and three runs while Yeudi Reyes saves it for Franky Quintana, the bullpen closing with six shutout innings. LF Rayshelon Carolina reaches four of five trips to the plate and 3B Raywendley van Gurp drives in three. Teenager Djenior Mogen is handed the defeat.
Puerto Rico 14,
The Bahamas 2. Puerto Rico finishes the round-robin as the top seed with their third straight big win after an opening loss. CF Miguel Egea and 1B Rubén Castro each score three times, while C Jan Vázquez has three RBI despite not getting a hit. 2B Luis Mateo also drives in three. Noel Pinto gets the win, Robin Haven the loss. 2B Adari Grant has two hits, a run and a RBI to lead the Bahamas.

Cuba 4,
Curaçao 2. Cuba repeats their win of two days prior to go to the finals. It was 2-2 until the 8th. Yeudi Reyes got the win while Risandro Pastor took the defeat. DH Yoelkis Guibert scored twice and CF Alexquemer Sánchez drives in a pair. For Curacao, SS Darren Seferina reaches in four of five appearances and has a role in both of their runs.
Puerto Rico 9,
The Bahamas 3. Puerto Rico locked up one of the open spots in the Central American and Caribbean Games, led by 3 RBI from CF Miguel Egea, the decision going to reliever Freddie Cabrera. In a losing effort, CF D'Shawn Knowles had three hits while RF Ellison Hanna scored two and 3B Keithron Moss drove in two. Brandon Russell was the losing pitcher.

Curaçao 4,
The Bahamas 2. Curaçao wins the other Central American and Caribbean Games slot, as Nelmerson Angela goes the distance with ten whiffs and no walks. The hosts take a the lead in the 6th when CF D'Shawn Knowles hits a two-run homer but Curaçao scores four in the bottom of the inning off Travvis Fergerson and McKell Bethel to come back for the win. C Ortwin Pieternella Jr. drives in a pair.
Puerto Rico 9,
Cuba 4. After a tough opening loss, Puerto Rico swept the rest of the way with five straight lopsided wins. CF Miguel Egea scored three times to lead a balanced offense in the title game, Oscar Rivera pitched three shutout innings for the win and Josué Montañez saved his second game against Cuba. RF Alexquemer Sánchez homers and drives in three while Pavel Hernández again loses to Puerto Rico.
