Biographical Information

José Carlos Burgos has pitched for the Puerto Rican national team.

In the 2015 Premier 12, he allowed two runs in 2 2/3 IP. He then was with them for the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup, he allowed one hit in 6 1/3 shutout innings to beat Pavel Hernández and Cuba. He again faced Cuba in the title game and again outdueled Hernández, allowing one run in four and leaving with a 7-1 lead but not lasting long enough to get the decision. He had the second-best ERA among hurlers who worked over five innings and tied for 4th in IP. He was named the event's All-Star starting pitcher. He was with Puerto Rico for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games but did not make it into a contest.
