Biographical Information[edit]

Jordan Lucas has pitched for the Curaçao national team.

He pitched six shutout innings in the 2021 Caribbean Baseball Cup to beat the US Virgin Islands; Curaçao went on to win its first Caribbean Baseball Cup. [1] In the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week, he pitched a four-hitter to beat Leandro Martínez and Cuba. He had the event's lone solo shutout. [2] He was 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA in the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup, beating Freddie Cabrera and Puerto Rico, then had a no-decision against Cuba. His team did well enough to win a spot in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. He led the Cup with 14 2/3 IP, 1 2/3 ahead of teammate Nelmerson Angela. [3]

Lucas was 5-1 to tie Carrol Servania for the most wins in the Curaçao national championship in 2023. [4] The WildCats KJ74 became the first team from the island to play in a Caribbean Series when they made the 2023 Caribbean Series. He lost to Dan Wirchansky and the Indios de Mayagüez in the Series, allowing three hits and two runs in one inning of work. He appeared for the Bonn Capitals in the 2023 European Champions Cup without having made a Bundesliga-1 appearance to that point. He did well against the Arrows Ostrava (1 R in 7 1/3 IP) but was dueled evenly by Ondřej Satoria and Titus Von Kapff took the loss in relief. He was chased early by Parma in his other start, giving up four runs in one inning in a loss to Matteo Bocchi. He allowed a tourney-high 13 hits and tied Wilson Lee for 10th in IP. [5] His busy year continued in the Central American and Caribbean Games, the first time Curaçao appeared since becoming independent from the Netherlands Antilles (they had been a key contributor to Antillean teams numerous times). He was 0-2 with a 4.67 ERA, losing to Cuba and Yoennis Yera as well as to the Dominican national team. He tied Luis Mateo, Andrés Santiago and Wilfredo Ramirez for the most losses, was 4th in innings, tied for the most starts and tied Carlos Valero and Leo Crawford for 3rd in runs allowed (7). [6]
