Biographical Information

Carlos Valero was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scouts Rafael Alvarez and William Mota in November 2018. He was assigned to the DSL Phillies Red the next summer but never made an appearance and was released in 2020. He allowed a run in 2/3 of an inning for the Navegantes del Magallanes in the 2020-2021 Venezuelan Winter League. He was 0-1 with a 3.50 ERA for Venezuela in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, losing to Panama and Julio Avendano. He tied for 5th with four appearances. He was 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA and a save in four outings for the 2021-2022 Navegantes. In the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he allowed only one hit and no runs in 7 1/3 IP. He tied for 8th in appearances, again with four.

He then appeared for the Venezuelan national team in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, going 0-1 with a 10.50 ERA for the Bronze Medalists; he lost to Cerilio Soleana and Curaçao.
