Biographical Information[edit]
Carlos Valero was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scouts Rafael Alvarez and William Mota in November 2018. [1] He was assigned to the DSL Phillies Red the next summer but never made an appearance and was released in 2020. [2] He allowed a run in 2/3 of an inning for the Navegantes del Magallanes in the 2020-2021 Venezuelan Winter League. He was 0-1 with a 3.50 ERA for Venezuela in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, losing to Panama and Julio Avendano. He tied for 5th with four appearances. [3] He was 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA and a save in four outings for the 2021-2022 Navegantes. In the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he allowed only one hit and no runs in 7 1/3 IP. He tied for 8th in appearances, again with four. [4]
He then appeared for the Venezuelan national team in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, going 0-1 with a 10.50 ERA for the Bronze Medalists; he lost to Cerilio Soleana and Curaçao. [5]
