Titus Von Kapff has played in the Bundesliga and for the German national team.
He was 1 for 2 with two runs and a RBI in the 2018 European Junior Championship and surrendered four runs in two innings. [1] In 2019, the teenager hit .303/.347/.364 and had a save and a 4.82 ERA. [2] For the 2020 Haar Disciples, he was 1-2 with a 8.10 ERA and batted .348/.348/.435 in limited action. [3]
He struggled in '21 at 0-3 with two saves, a 13.50 ERA and 2.63 WHIP while going 3-for-28 on offense. [4] He did play for Germany in the U23 Baseball World Cup, losing to Taiwan and Cuba and posting a 13.13 ERA. He tied for the event lead in losses. [5]
Von Kapff improved to 3-3, 4.45 ERA for the '22 Disciples and hit .340/.370/.380. He was 9th in the southern Bundesliga-1 with 58 K, between Mike Bolsenbroek and Jack Enciondo. [6] He allowed two unearned runs in two innings in the 2022 U23 Baseball World Cup, losing to Taiwan. [7]
The Bonn Capitals picked up the young right-hander for 2023. He was 1-3 with a save and a 3.83 ERA; he was 9th in the Bundesliga-1 north with 45 strikeouts. He was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in the 2023 European Champions Cup, losing to Ondřej Satoria and the Arrows Ostrava. [8] In the 2023 U23 European Championship, he beat Belgium's Mauro Van Mook and lost to France's Nicolas Antoine. [9] He made one appearance in the 2023 European Championship. Facing the defending champion Netherlands, he began by striking out former major leaguer Roger Bernadina. He pitched four shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks while whiffing three, outdueling another ex-MLBer, Shairon Martis. It was 1-0 when Simon Groß took over but Germany failed to lock up the upset, dropping the game, 5-4. [10]
