In his debut, he closed out a 9-0 win over the U.S. Virgin Islands, relieving Andy Vargas in the 9th. He allowed a single to Samuel Conroy, struck out Kaleeq Barrigan, walked Jahlani Rogers, fanned Zayd Barrigan and got Jahbyel Flynn looking. He saved Franky Quintana's 8-7 win over the defending champion Curaçao. He began by walking Sherman Jones and Darren Seferina singled but he struck out Dudley Leonora. He walked Shurendell Mujica but recovered to fan Swindly Lint and got Raywendley van Gurp on a grounder to end it. He then beat Curaçao and Risandro Pastor in the semifinals, entering with a 2-2 tie and pitching two shutout innings as Cuba rallied. He finished the event with five innings and a 0.00 ERA over four appearances. He tied Josué Montañez for the tournament lead in appearances. Among pitchers with a 0 ERA, only Oscar Rivera worked more innings. Reyes was named the All-Star reliever, one of two players from second-place Cuba on the All-Star team (the other was Yoelkis Guibert). [1]

The right-hander made Cuba's squad for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. [2]
