Biographical Information[edit]

Shean Michel was signed by Atlanta Braves scout Dargello Lodowica in August 2014. [1] He hit .272/.322/.347 with 5 triples in 54 games for the 2015 DSL Braves, driving in 35. In 2016, he played for the DSL Braves (.316/.379/.414, 5 3B, 26 R in 39 G) and GCL Braves (.195/.255/.207 in 26 G). he split 2017 between the GCL Braves (.227/.292/.373 in 5 G) and Danville Braves (.326/.378/.424 in 35 G). He hit his first pro homer in 2018 with the Florida Fire Frogs, batting .232/.276/.293 in 28 games for them and .267/.339/.327 in 32 for the Rome Braves.

During 2019, he played for Florida (.214/.303/.279 in 73 G) and the Mississippi Braves (1 for 10, 3B, 2 BB, 7 K). After the 2020 minor league season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic, he hit .205/.267/.337 in 75 games for Rome, stealing 12 bases in 16 tries. He had batted .249/.313/.333 in 373 games in the minors, with 177 runs and 126 RBI. He fielded .979 in the outfield. He hit .261/.346/.391 with six runs in eight games for the Netherlands in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, handling 11 putouts. He tied Julian Rip for the team lead in runs. [2] He was 0 for 13 with a walk and two runs for Curacao in the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week. [3] He batted .364/.423/.682 with six RBI in six games in the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup, going 3-for-3 in steal attempts and handling 12 putouts. He was 4th in the tournament in hits (8), tied for third in doubles (2), tied for the most triples (1), was 4th in RBI, led in total bases (15, one ahead of Rey Navarro), tied for second in steals, was 5th in average (between Yoelkis Guibert and Alexquemer Sánchez), led in slugging (.015 ahead of Taj Bates) and led in OPS (.027 ahead of Rubén Castro). He joined Miguel Egea and Rayshelon Carolina as the All-Star outfielders. [4]

In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, he started in center for Curacao. He singled off El Salvador's Nelson Alfaro his first time up then homered off Yoennis Yera the next day. The light-hitting flyhawk had the first homer for the independent Curacao national team in a major tournament (Curacao had played in the Caribbean Baseball Cup only since breaking away politically from the Netherlands Antilles) He produced at a .353/.476/.529 clip, tying for 8th in walks (4).
