The 2005 Serie A1 season saw Italeri Bologna and T&A San Marino finish the regular season tied for top spot but it was Bologna who triumphed in the Italian Series to win the scudetto for the second time in three years. 1B Claudio Liverziani was named series MVP. Bologna players Wady Almonte and Jesus Matos led the league in batting average/RBI and ERA/strikeouts respectively.
