The 2006 Serie A1 champions were Telemarket Rimini. Rimini just made the playoffs as the fourth-placed team (25-23) and had the league's worst team batting average (.229) but they cruised through the playoffs, losing just twice on their way to their 11th scudetto. Newcomers De Angelis Godo had an impressive first season in Serie A1 as they just missed out on the playoffs, finishing one game behind eventual champions Rimini.
