Marco Nanni was a catcher for Bologna from 1990-2001. He hit .286/.356/.343 in 1990, .259/.375/.306 in 1992, .178/.245/.218 in 1993, .298/.403/.435 in 1994, .301/.398/.344 in 1995, .245/.314/.331 in 1996, .308/.510/.375 in 1997, .301/.381/.384 in 1998, .203/.310/.270 in 1999, .190/.282/.206 in 2000 and .284/.385/.313 in 2001. Overall, he hit .252/.341/.317. He later managed Bologna to the Italian Baseball League title in 2009 and 2014. He was bench coach for the Italian national team in the 2014 European Championship.
