The 2006 Italian Series was won by Telemarket Rimini. The Pirates, who finished fourth in the regular season and just made the playoffs, knocked off Colonie Maremma Grosseto in the final to claim their eleventh Serie A1 scudetto. Former major league LHP Brian Looney went 2-0 (0.00) for Rimini in two refief appearances.
