Biographical Information[edit]
Brian Looney was the very first player ever drafted out of Boston College to reach the major leagues (many players had previously come to the majors from the college, but that was before the draft existed).
Looney was 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA for T & A San Marino in the 2007 European Cup. He had a 6.23 ERA and a save for San Marino when they finished third in the 2008 European Cup. Looney had a save and pitched two scoreless innings in the 2008 European Cup Final Four, but nearly blew the game by allowing 2 hits in the 9th before escaping the jam.
