Biographical Information[edit]
Carlos Casimiro played two games in the bigs at designated hitter for the Baltimore Orioles in 2000. In his first at bat, in relief of Jeff Conine on July 31st, he belted a two-run double off J.C. Romero of the Minnesota Twins. It proved to be his sole hit; he would drive in another run on a ground out the following day, and then returned to the minors. Carlos was in the minors for seven seasons and also played in Italy from 2002-2006.
Casimiro later became skipper of the Oakland Athletics' DSL squad. He was scheduled to return as manager in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. There is no record of his coaching activities in 2021-2022. Casimiro was the infield coach for the DSL Athletics squad in 2023-2024.
