The 2004 Serie A1 season was dominated by Prink Grosseto. They went 47-7 in the regular season and won the Italian Series, their first scudetto since 1989. Grosseto had three pitchers win 10-plus games. Former major leaguer Jaime Navarro led the way with 15, David Rollandini won 14, and Riccardo De Santis 12. Grosseto also had the top two hitters in the league in Gabriele Ermini and Rafael Ozuna.

Saim Rho made their first appearance in Serie A1 and finished in last place.
