History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
Partially due to an injury to Frank Thomas, the 2001 Chicago White Sox struggled to a 14-29 start. By the time they recovered, it was too late, and they finished the season third in their division with a .500 record. Magglio Ordonez led the offense, hitting .305 with 31 homers, and young pitcher Mark Buehrle won 16 games.
Long time Sox star Harold Baines played in the final game of his career on September 27th.
