History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

The 1913 Chicago White Sox were the team to follow if you were a fan of low-scoring games. They led the major leagues for the fewest runs allowed and the fewest runs scored that season; only three other teams have done this since. The White Sox had an excellent pitching staff, led by Eddie Cicotte, Jim Scott and Reb Russell who finished respectively second, third and fourth in the American League in ERA, but obviously they did not have much offence.
