History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

After losing to the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1993 American League Championship Series, the 1994 Chicago White Sox appeared to be again headed to the postseason. Frank Thomas hit .353 with 38 homers and won a second consecutive Most Valuable Player award. The Sox's strong pitching staff was led by Jack McDowell, Wilson Alvarez, and youngster Jason Bere, who went 12-2. The Sox playoff aspirations were ended by the player's strike which shortened the season and caused the postseason to be cancelled. As a result, Sox fans were left wondering what might have been.
