History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

Winners of the 1906 World Series, the 1907 Chicago White Sox led the American League for much of the first half of 1907 but ultimately finished third. At their high point on July 17th, they were in first place with a record of 52-26 and had a 5 1/2 game lead over the second-place Cleveland Naps. However, they slumped badly after that and by the start of September, had fallen two third place, behind the Detroit Tigers, who eventually won the pennant, and the Philadelphia Athletics, with Cleveland a close fourth.
